OVERVIEW

Subs is a creator-first social and monetization platform designed to help creators build sustainable income while staying close to their audience. The product combines free following with paid subscriptions, positioning itself between mainstream social platforms and traditional subscription-based creator platforms.


I joined the project at an early stage and led both product design and marketing visuals (art direction), shaping how Subs looks, feels, and communicates across product and brand touchpoints.

Creators are often forced to choose between reach and revenue.

Mainstream social platforms offer visibility but limited monetization, while subscription platforms can feel restrictive, niche, or disconnected from broader audiences.


The challenge was to design a product that:


  • Feels mainstream, modern, and trustworthy

  • Supports multiple creator categories

  • Makes monetization feel natural and optional

  • Works consistently across product, marketing, and brand surfaces



This required aligning product UX and visual identity into a single, coherent system.

I led a design team of three, covering product design, visual design, and marketing surfaces. My role combined hands-on design with direction, feedback, and system-level decision-making.


Key principles:


  • One visual language across product and marketing

  • Clear hierarchy and calm interfaces to build trust

  • Creator empowerment through transparent controls

  • System-first thinking to support speed and scale



Design decisions were made in close collaboration with founders, product, and engineering to keep execution fast and aligned.
